outreach

We care about our neighbors and the community in which we live, so our people serve in a variety of ways, such as volunteering in our local food pantry called Loaves & Fish or hosting our annual Trunk or Treat (pictured left).  These are demonstrations of the love we have received from God.  But as good as those deeds might be, they would be incomplete without the good news of the love of God that comes to us through Jesus Christ.  Our mission is to see more people come to experience the grace of God through personal faith in Christ so that his glory shines throughout northern Illinois and around the world!

Missions

This ministry is a regional and global extension of our local outreach.  In fact, ReachGlobal is the name of the missions arm of the Evangelical Free Church of America.  We support missionaries around the world through the EFCA and other evangelical organizations.  We also support individuals and organizations in northern Illinois such as Rockford Rescue Mission, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Faith Christian School (Grand Detour), Transport for Christ (Rochelle), and Hope Life Center (Rock Falls and Ottawa).

Church planting

EFCMM was planted in 1956 when First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford, Illinois, sent leaders and others to help a group of believers start a new church.  In 2018, we sent out nearly 40 people to be the seed of a new congregation in Sterling, Illinois, with the encouragement and support of area EFCA and other gospel-centered churches.  Learn more about Christ Church Sterling through the link, and pray that this will result in more generations of believers and congregations!
